Bathroom Ettiquette

I was at a wedding reception on Saturday. Let me set the stage...

1. Large Women's bathroom at a local hotel/reception place. When I say large, I mean 9 stalls or so.
2. When I go in there, I am the ONLY one in the whole bathroom.
3. Someone else comes in.

What do you think happens? Right, she takes the stall NEXT TO MINE! I picked the stall smack in the middle of the row and she picks the one immediately to the right of me (that's stage right, if it matters). So, of course I start thinking about bathroom ettiquette. You know - you don't take the stall next to the full stall unless you have to. Some people only use the even stalls - some the odd.

I figured I would head back to the table at the wedding reception and comment about the lack of bathroom ettiquette this person had. So, I am standing at the sink washing up and the offender comes out of her stall. Turns out it was someone from my table! Lucky for me, I took my time washing my hands. Imagine my embarrasment if I had not known who it was and then started spouting off about bathroom ettiquette! I guess it wouldn't have been too bad - I really don't like this person much anyway.

So, now you know...don't take the stall next to me unless you have to.

I promise never to take the stall next to you.

I typically use stall #4, UNLESS SOMEONE IS IN 3 OR 5. In which case I choose 1, 2 or 6. I will never understand people who want to sit next to me in the bathroom. Don't get me started about people who talk on the phone while on the toilet !!!!

What were you doing in the "Large Women's bathroom"? I assumed there was a height restriction.

I believe there should be "Bathroom Ettiquette Rules" posted in EVERY restroom. I always take the very last stall. That way the chances of some one 'breaking the rules' is lessened.
